UvA and VU resume use of Canvas after deal with hackers

The University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) are restoring access to the Canvas learning platform after its parent company reached a deal with the hacking group Shinyhunters. Although the company claims that stolen student and staff data has been destroyed, both universities are advising users to change their passwords and remain alert for phishing attempts. Systems are being brought back online starting Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
