Late bloomer Elvis Afrifa sprints with world elite: "I'm actually a football guy"

Elvis Afrifa, a 28-year-old sprinter from Amsterdam-Zuidoost, has emerged as a top competitor in the 100-meter sprint despite transitioning from football to athletics only at age 17. After competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, he is now focused on breaking the 10-second barrier and preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Afrifa currently holds a personal record of 10.09 seconds and credits his late-blooming success to natural talent and his background in football.
