Thermal energy storage falters, but Haarlem continues gas phase-out: No link between technology and policy

The city of Haarlem remains committed to its gas-free transition despite recent technical failures in a thermal energy storage system at the Schalkstad apartment complex. Residents suffered through freezing temperatures last winter when the system malfunctioned, but energy councilor Robbert Berkhout stated that these technical issues do not influence the city's overarching energy policy.
