Borneokade houseboat residents and municipality settle: swimming jetty to be shortened

Houseboat residents at the Borneokade in Amsterdam have reached a settlement with the municipality to shorten a popular swimming pier to mitigate noise and overcrowding. Under the agreement, the city will also search for a new mooring location for the residents and implement active enforcement against future disturbances in the area. This compromise follows a lengthy legal battle and a ruling from the Council of State that favored the residents' right to a quiet living environment.
