Borneokade residents disappointed after meeting on swimming pier: "Hoped for more perspective"

More than a hundred residents of Amsterdam-Oost attended an information meeting regarding the shortening of a popular swimming pier at Borneokade following a Council of State ruling. District administrator Jan-Bert Vroege admitted the municipality failed to foresee the legal outcome and suggested a future zoning plan change as a potential solution. Residents expressed frustration over the loss of swimming space and the ongoing conflict with houseboat owners, while officials plan to monitor the area over the next six weeks.
