Halsema lashes out at British police over claim about shared information on Maccabi fans

Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema has criticized the West Midlands Police for falsely claiming that their decision to bar Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from an Aston Villa match was based on intelligence provided by Amsterdam authorities. Halsema denied sharing reports about "experienced fighters" and called the British police's claims "unacceptable" and factually incorrect. The dispute, which involved intelligence errors partly attributed to the use of an AI tool, recently contributed to the resignation of West Midlands Chief Constable Craig Guildford.
