Battle for extra days off at Albert Heijn: part-timers want ‘forbidden’ labor agreement rule
Five part-time employees at an Albert Heijn distribution center challenged a collective labor agreement rule that awards extra vacation days only to those working more than 32 hours per week. Although the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights previously labeled this practice as prohibited discrimination, a judge has now ruled against the employees' claim. The case underscores a legal dispute over equal treatment for part-time workers within the company.
