De Nederlandsche Bank has contributed 500,000 euros toward a museum dedicated to Elisabeth Samson, who was historically the wealthiest woman in Suriname. The funding is part of a broader acknowledgment of historical injustices and the bank's role in a period when the prosperity of Black individuals was systemically suppressed.
