Guido Frankfurther, a former Amsterdam city council member, has officially qualified as a tram driver after multiple previous attempts. His journey to this role was marked by challenges, including failing a reaction test three years ago and being required to serve as a conductor first before continuing his training. Today, he stands proud after successfully completing his certification alongside seven other candidates at the Havenstraat depot.

His nine-week training program, overseen by instructor Stefan, concluded with Frankfurther proving his competency. Having previously faced difficulties with technical operations and assessment tests, he expressed a sense of personal achievement in overcoming these obstacles. Frankfurther is now scheduled to begin his first professional shift this Saturday, departing from the Lekstraat at 6:30 a.m. This new career phase marks a successful transition from his time in local politics to the public transport sector within the city.
