Olympic Stadium to become an interactive Tutankhamun museum for three months

An interactive exhibition on Pharaoh Tutankhamun is coming to the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium for three months, featuring VR experiences and life-sized replicas. The event, which has already attracted millions of visitors internationally, aims to provide an immersive journey into ancient Egypt using advanced projection and digital technologies.

The Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam is set to host an interactive exhibition dedicated to the life and reign of Pharaoh Tutankhamun for a period of three months. Organised by Jelle de Jong, the event will feature a massive, heated pavilion spanning 2400 square metres, constructed directly on the stadium grounds. Visitors will be transported back 3400 years to ancient Egypt through a variety of high-tech installations, including a mummification room, a replica treasury, and an immersive VR experience that allows guests to explore the pharaoh's tomb. Additional highlights include a massive projection display covering 1200 square metres of wall space, designed to bring the historical era to life. This exhibition, which previously found success in Germany and Egypt, celebrates the centenary of the discovery of the tomb by Howard Carter. De Jong, who developed the concept with input from Egyptologists and historians, has already welcomed over 2.7 million visitors to his interactive historical showcases across the globe.
