Joey Ceti in Love Island VIPS despite gang rape allegations

Joey Ceti has been announced as a participant in Love Island VIPS, despite currently being under investigation for alleged involvement in a gang rape. The casting decision has faced widespread public criticism, with viewers questioning the appropriateness of including a suspect of such a serious crime in a popular reality program.

The cast for the reality show Love Island VIPS has been announced, featuring Joey Ceti among the ten participants. Ceti's inclusion has sparked significant online backlash, as he is currently under investigation for his alleged involvement in a gang rape that reportedly occurred in March. While Ceti spent fourteen days in pre-trial detention following his arrest in late June, he has since been released pending further investigation and has not been convicted of any crime.

The investigation into the incident involves five men, four of whom were detained, including Ceti. The suspects deny the allegations, claiming the sexual encounters were consensual and occurred during a party involving alcohol and drugs. Despite these claims, many viewers have expressed outrage over Ceti being given a platform, arguing that his participation in a show popular with young people sends an inappropriate message. Neither RTL nor VTM has issued a formal response to the controversy as the new season prepares to air on October 19.
