Mobility company Pon is integrating its shared vehicle brands Greenwheels and Check to streamline user access and expand its fleet. The companies aim to double their total number of vehicles to twenty thousand by 2030 to encourage shared mobility and reduce reliance on private transport.
Mobility conglomerate Pon is initiating a strategic collaboration between its shared vehicle brands, Greenwheels and Check, aiming to significantly expand their combined fleet. Starting November 18, users will be able to access both car and scooter services through either application, as the companies begin integrating their subscription models to improve user convenience. While the brands remain separate entities for now, a full merger remains a possibility for the future.
Currently operating a fleet of approximately ten thousand vehicles, the companies have set an ambitious goal to reach twenty thousand cars by 2030, alongside an extensive expansion of electric cargo bikes and scooters. According to Check director Paul van Merrienboer, the partnership will increase vehicle utilization rates. By providing a more comprehensive shared mobility network, Pon hopes to reduce private car ownership and enhance the overall liveability of urban environments throughout the Netherlands.
