31-year-old man from Almere arrested for aggravated assault of woman at Nieuw-West party center

A 31-year-old man from Almere has turned himself in to the police after allegedly severely beating a woman at a party center in Amsterdam Nieuw-West last Saturday morning. The victim sustained serious injuries and required hospitalization following the incident, which occurred around 5:40 a.m. at Rhône Events. Police had previously released a description of the suspect, who initially fled the scene during the resulting commotion. Authorities are currently continuing their investigation and are actively seeking witnesses and footage of the assault.

The altercation escalated to a point where police were required to form a line and utilize batons to manage aggressive attendees and restore order. This party center near Sloterdijk station has a history of violent incidents, including a shooting earlier in October and the fatal 2022 shooting of rapper Danzel Silos, also known as Bigidagoe. While the recent assault occurred during the same weekend as the Amsterdam Dance Event, police confirmed that the party was not associated with the festival.
