Tip: Your old Christmas decorations get you a discount at IKEA this weekend only

Ikea Haarlem is offering a 25 percent discount on Christmas collections this weekend for Ikea Family members who recycle their old, functional holiday decorations. The initiative, run in partnership with the Salvation Army, aims to give used festive items a second life.

Ikea Haarlem is hosting a special recycling event this weekend where customers can trade in old Christmas decorations for a store discount. Ikea Family members who bring in ornaments or functional lighting that fits within a shoebox or grocery bag will receive a 25 percent discount voucher for the Vinterfint and Stråla collections. To ensure quality, store employees will inspect all items to confirm they are in good condition before issuing the discount. The initiative takes place exclusively on Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8.

Collected items will not be discarded but instead given a second life through a partnership with the Salvation Army, helping other households enjoy a festive season. In addition to the recycling campaign, the store is hosting a creative workshop in the kitchen department from 11:00 to 13:00 on both days, where visitors can decorate gingerbread elves or Christmas trees.
