Neighborhood strongly opposes garbage boat in canal: "It's such a beautiful spot, historic heritage"

Residents and business owners in Amsterdam are protesting a municipal plan to station a waste collection boat on the Singel canal starting June 1st. While the city aims to remove garbage bags from the streets, locals fear the facility will cause traffic congestion, odors, and pest problems in the historic center. The activist group has threatened legal action if the city moves forward with the necessary permits.
