Major parking problems in this new neighborhood: 'Barrier is being forced open'

Residents of "The Bridge" residential building in Amsterdam-Zuidoost are facing severe parking shortages because the municipality does not issue street parking permits for new developments in the area. With parking occupancy at 95%, some residents have resorted to parking on grass or allegedly forcing open barriers to find space. The city maintains that parking should be managed within private building facilities, while residents argue that the current situation is unsustainable given the high costs and distant public transport links.
