Halsema closes Southeast home with cannabis farm, nearly 100 plants found

Mayor Femke Halsema has ordered the three-month closure of an uninhabited house in Amsterdam-Zuidoost after police discovered a cannabis plantation with 94 plants. The closure, lasting until June 17, aims to address safety concerns such as fire hazards and criminal activity associated with drug production. This discovery was part of a larger operation in February that uncovered nearly 1,300 plants across five properties in the same district.
