New university library also overcrowded: Half an hour searching and still no spot

Students at the University of Amsterdam are facing severe overcrowding at the newly opened library on the former Binnengasthuisterrein, often lining up before opening to secure a spot. While the facility provides 1,100 study spaces, student unions claim this capacity is insufficient to meet the high demand. The university suggests using their digital app to find available spots and plans to offer extra spaces during peak exam periods.
