Anton de Kom born exactly 128 years ago: "He was a razor-sharp writer and organizer"

The Black Archives held a memorial in Amsterdam to honor the 128th birthday of Anton de Kom, a Surinamese writer and resistance fighter who campaigned against colonialism and racism. Participants highlighted the enduring relevance of his work, including his book *Wij Slaven van Suriname*, and his sacrifice during World War II after being imprisoned in a concentration camp. The event underscored De Kom’s historical significance and his continued influence on contemporary movements for social justice and racial equality.
