Saving lives on 'Asphalt': road inspector Roy shares the raw reality of the highway

Former Dutch road inspector Roy Heiliegers has published a book titled "Asfalt" to highlight the dangerous and life-saving work performed by Rijkswaterstaat employees on the country's highways. The book details his personal experiences with intense incidents, ranging from witnessing fatal accidents to assisting in a roadside birth, to showcase the vital role inspectors play as first responders. Heiliegers wrote the work to honor his colleagues and emphasize that traffic safety is heavily dependent on human behavior and quick professional intervention.
