Halsema says baton pilot for law enforcement was not based on incorrect figures after all

Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema has clarified that a trial granting batons to enforcement officers was not based on incorrect violence figures, despite a previous admission of a data error. While a registration glitch did inflate aggression reports for a nine-month period, the mayor stated that the trial was justified using earlier data that correctly showed 80% of officers faced misconduct. Halsema maintains that the core information used to launch the pilot remains valid.
