Corrupt Zandvoort official receives lighter sentence than demanded for fraudulent land sale to mother

A 38-year-old former legal worker from Haarlem has been sentenced to 240 hours of community service and a five-month suspended prison sentence for fraud and corruption. While working for the municipality of Zandvoort, he manipulated zoning plans to sell a property to his mother for significantly less than its market value. The crimes took place between 2021 and 2022 and involved a plot of land located in Bentveld.
