Asylum seekers and Haarlem residents gather for Spaarne dinner

The Spaarnediner event in Haarlem brings together local residents and asylum seekers to foster community connections through shared meals and cultural exchange. Inspired by a similar initiative in Amsterdam, the project has successfully engaged dozens of volunteers and will now continue as a monthly event. The initiative serves as a positive response to previous local opposition regarding the opening of a new asylum seekers' center in the neighborhood.
