Nassaukade resident finds explosive in house: 'not an Easter egg, but a hand grenade'

A resident clearing a house on the Nassaukade in Amsterdam discovered a hand grenade on Easter Monday, prompting an emergency response from police and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service. The object was identified as an empty 'Mills bomb,' a type of British grenade used during the World Wars, and was safely removed from the premises. Authorities confirmed the device was not functional and its origin remains unknown.
