Fewer students get into preferred school for third year in a row

For the third consecutive year, the percentage of Amsterdam eighth-graders placed in their first-choice secondary school has declined, falling below 75% for the first time. Data from the Association of Amsterdam School Boards shows that while 91% of the 7,674 students were matched with one of their top three preferences, a small number were placed in their lowest-ranked school. Students dissatisfied with their placement can participate in a second round for remaining spots later this week.
