Current business park to feature 8,000 high-rise homes in the future

The Amsterdam City Council is reviewing plans to transform the Holterbergweg industrial area in Zuidoost into a high-rise district featuring up to 8,000 new homes and expanded business space. The development project aims to create a metropolitan skyline and a car-light environment, with housing construction scheduled to start in 2029. Key challenges for the area include managing limited electricity capacity and increasing pressure on public transportation and road infrastructure.
