Pub owners happy they can broadcast all World Cup matches at night

Pub owners in Amsterdam are celebrating a decision by the municipality to allow bars to stay open late into the night to broadcast World Cup matches. Because the tournament is hosted in North America, many games will take place after standard closing times, but all establishments now have permission to remain open for the duration of the games. While the exemption applies to every match, many owners intend to focus their late-night openings on major fixtures and matches featuring the Dutch national team.
