Scientists doubt ICL measures against odor and hydrochloric acid

Scientists are questioning the effectiveness of measures proposed by the ICL fertilizer plant in Amsterdam to address persistent odors and illegal hydrochloric acid emissions that have impacted local residents' health. Experts argue that the planned carbon filters and water system changes are overdue and likely insufficient to bring the facility into compliance with legal emission standards. The factory recently faced a €500,000 fine after inspections revealed emissions up to 46 times the legal limit.
