Young, lonely and depressed: how do vocational students become happy again?

Vocational (mbo) students in the Netherlands are facing disproportionately high levels of mental health issues and suicidal thoughts due to combined academic, financial, and personal pressures. Although schools are implementing support programs to bridge gaps caused by long psychiatric waiting lists, proposed budget cuts now threaten the availability of critical youth doctors. These medical professionals are essential for the early detection and treatment of students struggling with severe depression and trauma.
