A gas station on Hoofdweg in Lijnden was robbed by multiple suspects on Wednesday evening. Police confirmed that one individual has been arrested in connection with the crime.

The overcrowded asylum registration center in Ter Apel currently has no space for approximately 30 asylum seekers. The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) stated it remains uncertain if shelter will be found for them by Wednesday night.

The municipality of Stadskanaal will provide emergency shelter for asylum seekers unable to find space at the Ter Apel reception center on Wednesday night. Mayor Klaas Sloots confirmed the initiative to ensure that no one is forced to sleep outdoors.
