Groningen to provide night shelter for Ter Apel asylum seekers in coming days

The city of Groningen will provide temporary night shelter at the Hanzeplaza convention center from Saturday through Monday to accommodate asylum seekers due to capacity issues in Ter Apel. Mayor Roelien Kamminga approved the emergency measure following a request from Asylum Minister Bart van den Brink. The number of individuals housed will depend on the daily influx of people arriving at the national reception center.
