Municipality less likely to intervene over homeless tents
The municipality of Amsterdam is taking longer to remove improvised tents used by homeless people, many of whom are labor migrants from Eastern Europe. New protocols require officials to prioritize care assessments and social services before clearing sites, a process that can take several weeks as shelters reach maximum capacity. However, only a small percentage of those affected qualify for long-term support or housing under current regulations.
