28-time German international top candidate to strengthen Ajax defense; replacement for Godts also nearly signed

Ajax is nearing deals to sign German defender Thilo Kehrer on loan from AS Monaco and Ivorian winger Simon Adingra from Sunderland. The club aims to strengthen their defensive lineup and secure a replacement for the departed Mika Godts before the transfer window closes.

Ajax is currently in advanced negotiations to sign 28-time German international Thilo Kehrer on a loan deal from AS Monaco to bolster their defensive options. The 29-year-old defender is seen as a key addition to provide more depth in the center of the defense for manager Míchel Sánchez, who is currently limited in his tactical choices. Technical director Jordi Cruijff is working to finalize the transfer before the window closes, utilizing Kehrer's extensive experience from his time at clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham United.

In addition to strengthening the defense, Ajax is close to securing Ivorian winger Simon Adingra from Sunderland to replace Mika Godts. The loan deal for the 24-year-old, who spent time on loan at Monaco, is reportedly nearing completion according to English media reports. Adingra was targeted after other options, such as Noa Lang, proved too expensive for the club. These moves are intended to significantly revitalize the squad ahead of the remainder of the season.
