Study: Significant inequality between women and men remains in the city

The 2025 Emancipation Monitor reveals that women in Amsterdam continue to face significant inequalities compared to men, including lower economic independence and higher rates of street harassment. Despite being more likely to hold high education credentials than the national average, Amsterdam's women report more chronic stress and psychological health issues. Factors such as age, education level, and migration background further influence the degree of barriers experienced by women in the city.
