Waternet has issued a boil water advisory for hundreds of addresses in Amsterdam-Zuid and Amsterdam Nieuw-West after fecal bacteria were detected following routine pipe maintenance. Residents in affected areas, including the Kastelenstraat and Nicolaas Maesstraat, are advised to boil their water for consumption as a precautionary measure against potential illness. The utility company is currently investigating the cause of the contamination while working to restore the quality of the drinking water.
