District wants to make street in front of OLVG car-free

The Amsterdam-Oost district is planning to make Oosterpark street and its intersection with Beukenweg car-free to improve safety and accessibility near the OLVG hospital. Scheduled for 2028, the project aims to create more space for pedestrians and cyclists at a location currently designated as a traffic blackspot. The plans are in their early stages and will undergo a formal planning procedure involving consultation with local residents.
