These Americans traded the US for Amsterdam because of Trump
A growing number of Americans are emigrating to the Netherlands, particularly Amsterdam, driven by political dissatisfaction and safety concerns in the United States. Statistics from the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service show record-high visa applications, with many individuals utilizing the Dutch-American Friendship Treaty (DAFT) to easily obtain residency permits as entrepreneurs. There are now over 9,000 American residents in Amsterdam, reflecting a significant increase in those seeking a more stable and positive political environment.
