'Ministry was wrong, banning steel slag is allowed.' Health at 1 and Urgenda offer municipalities a helping hand

Environmental and health organizations Gezondheid op 1 and Urgenda have issued a guide to Dutch municipalities challenging the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management's stance on steel slag. The organizations argue that local governments are legally permitted to ban the material to protect public health, contradicting the ministry's current position. This initiative aims to support regional administrators in restricting the use of industrial byproducts in their jurisdictions.
