Dementia costs society tens of billions according to research

A study conducted by health economist Robbert Huijsman for Alzheimer Nederland estimates that the societal costs of dementia in the Netherlands reached 31.8 billion euros last year. This analysis includes both direct costs for nursing home care and indirect costs, such as the value of care provided by informal caregivers.
